At StiftungSchweiz, we are committed to the digitalisation of the charitable sector. However, it will probably be a few years before every one of the seven thousand or so funding organisations in Switzerland has set up a digital application system. In the meantime, we have introduced the Request Wizard to make it easier for you as a non-profit organisation to create your paper applications and manage them online together with the digital applications.
Create a request
You can use the Request Wizard to create and print out your project dossier and cover letter in no time at all for all funding organisations that have not specified a digital request channel with us. To do this, go to the portrait of the funding organisation you would like to send a request to on stiftungschweiz.ch and click on the ‘Start request wizard’ button. Then select the project for which you would like to submit the application. The following screen will show you whether any information is missing from your organisation or project profile for the project dossier. You can simply add any missing information and then return to the application screen. Enter your enquiry there (you can read more about the enquiry here) and the requested amount.
From the Pro level upwards, you can decide whether the cover letter should be created with our AI assistant and in which language the AI assistant should write the letter. If you have the cover letter created with our AI assistant, you can also give it instructions in the chat window, e.g. ‘Address the letter to Mrs Müller and refer to our phone call on 12 March 2025’.
Click on ‘Next step’ to create your application as a draft in your application overview.
Finalise your request
In the detailed view of your requests, you will now see the cover letter created with your enquiry. Check and customise it directly in the detailed view and export it by clicking on ‘Export letter as Word file’. Print out the cover letter to send by post or create a PDF from it to send by email. Then export the dossier. We have stored a standard template for this. You can customise this under ‘Export settings’. You can find a detailed explanation here. Then print out the dossier for sending by post or create a PDF from it for sending by e-mail. When using the application wizard, it is very important that you send the application yourself by post or email! This is not done automatically by the system; the wizard only helps you to create and manage the application. You have to send it yourself.
Manage request
As soon as you have sent the request to the funding organisation by post or email, click on the ‘Request submitted’ button in the detailed view. The application is then moved from ‘Draft’ status to ‘Submitted’ status. Change the status of the application yourself as soon as you receive feedback from the funding organisation. To do this, click on the status of the application and select the new appropriate status.
